Mentorship – Songwriting and EDM production

Seeing lives changed is a tremendous privilege. But inspiring our young people to be raised up as leaders of their own peer group. To change lives themselves could see a generation changed.

The plan is to use our existing facilities at Hope Corner Church in Runcorn to give access to some of the less fortunate families and young people. space to teach song writing and music production of electronic dance music. To open up the world of personal creative music. As well as a view to offering that space as a platform for them to perform and share their creations to friends and family.

Having Creamfields (the UK’s biggest dance music festival) on our doorstep. Using this existing draw to turn our young people away from time spent with drugs and alcohol. Into time spent productively creating and expressing themselves through dance music.

Using topical themes from the Alpha Course. This serves as an open forum to exploring some of the deeper questions of life. Responding to these questions and expressing that through music. This seeks to foster a positive approach to different subcultures and preparing for the more challenging scenarios they can present.

As an adult, our introductions to one another tend to be, ‘my name is ‘…..’ , and im a ‘……’. We are defined mostly by our career or how we spend our time. For young people. The biggest question is often ‘what music are you into?’. So what’s cooler than being the kid at school with their own music productions and performing them on stage? I believe this is an opportunity to reshape our young people. Their cultural landscape and their generation.
